"Whatever
you accomplish in life is a manifestation not as much
of what you do, as of what you believe you deserve."
—Les
Brown
I think the "seeker's path"
is about arriving at a place, a bottom, where will and
ego aren't big enough to serve the thing that you are
after, which is truth. So you have to give up trying to
control things. You attend to them. The difference is
major. The path is about a larger, more mysterious context,
which makes things scarier and more confusing, but it
also makes beauty possible. Truth, like beauty, is not
ultimately in your power, it is larger.
—Tom Jay, sculptor, as quoted in the 2006 Heron
Dance Day Book and Planner
What is your purpose and how do you find it if you don't think you
know what it is?
The
answer may come from a small voice that tugs at your heart when
you first awaken and softly whispers, "If only I could..."
or "If money was no object, I would..."
Whatever
inspires you to jump out of bed in the morning, whatever you are
excited to spend time doing, or whatever you feel really passionate
about probably has something to do with your purpose.
Or
conversely, as Royce Morales, founder of PLA,
states, "Whatever your worst fear, your biggest 'weakness,'
or your primary life issue could also very likely be your biggest
strength, and ultimately part of your purpose."
You
have a unique format in which to live your purpose. Defining your
purpose is about exploring and experiencing ways to rediscover what
that form is meant to be.
The
willingness to be in total trust, fully on that quest, will allow
you to learn many life-lessons and will eventually bring you the
biggest rewards your life has to offer you.
